Ministries

The Olivet 1st Baptist Church is involved in several ministries that cater to the spiritual growth and well being of its church community and beyond. The main  ministries include:

Sunday School

Sunday school involves bible teachings that will assist your spiritual growth. Classes range from preschool age all the way up to the adults.  Sunday school takes place from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Sundays before the main morning service.

Prayer Meetings

Prayer is power. At prayer meetings, we make known our prayer requests, then we pray for each other. Prayer meetings take place on Tuesday nights from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Bible Study

At bible study, we are free to ask questions and engage in discussion as we discover and study what God has to say to us through His words. Bible study takes place on Thursday nights from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Witnessing

We are encourage to personally witness every time there is an opportunity because everyone needs to know about the love of Jesus Christ and how He can save them from eternal punishment for their sins. As a church, we usually go witnessing on Sunday afternoons when it is announced.

The Ladies Fellowship

At Ladies Fellowship meetings, the ladies of the church meet to encourage and sharpen each other, learn from each other, pray, socialize, listen to exhortations that will help them to become spiritually stronger, visit and assist those who are sick and so much more. The Ladies Fellowship meet every 2 weeks on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm.

The Men’s Fellowship

Like the Ladies Fellowship, the  Men’s Fellowship is an avenue where the men meet to strengthen each other spiritually and more. The Men’s Fellowship usually meet on Saturday evenings at 6:00 pm.

Youth Meetings

At youth meetings, the youth are encouraged and energized in their Christian faith through fun games, activities and bible lessons. Youth meetings take place on Friday nights from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Member Care

The church is always willing to assist members who are in need; whether physically , financially or in whatever way possible. Over the years, the church has assisted several members with funding for attending bible school. We are pleased that they all have been successful and are serving the Lord where ever He has called them to do so. The church has also assisted with renovations and building of  homes for some members.
